Humanitarian assistance possible only when there is ceasefire between Israel and Hamas
In the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emanuel Macron the issue of war between Hamas and Israel in Gaza figured prominently. Sources said that there was an unanimity of thought that there should be a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the two warring parties in Gaza, to bring humanitarian assistance to the suffering people.

On Friday, Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra told the journalist in a special visit of the French President, that the two leaders indeed discussed the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. He said, “Akhilesh ji, you talked about what’s happening in Gaza. As I mentioned to you in my opening remarks, that the two leaders, when they met, they discussed not just areas of priority and focus in our bilateral partnership, but also focused quite a lot on what’s happening in different parts of the world. Naturally, the ongoing conflict in Gaza and its various dimensions, the terror dimension, the humanitarian dimension, the civil disruption dimension, all those things came up for discussion, and both leaders shared their perspective.”
However, both Indian and French leaders were concerned about the terrorist activities of Hamas. So they want commitment from Hamas side too.
In the meeting between Modi and Macron, the two sides also discussed the disruption in supply chain in Red Sea! “With regard to developments in the Red Sea, naturally, the disruptions, the potential disruption and the actual things happening in the maritime domain there, which is causing disruption to the commercial shipping, indeed is a matter of serious concern, and both leaders focused on it,” the Foreign Secretary said.
